Change of address

June 30, 2006 by Wendy

I keep meaning to tell you I moved. WE MOVED. On Sunday the Starving Artists came and got my stuff and put it in the truck. They would have put Chris’s stuff in the truck had there been enough room, but apparently I have an astonishing amount of stuff. I mean, I don’t hoard used tinfoil or collect Franklin Mint chess sets, but still all my things could fill an eighteen-foot truck. So they unloaded the truck here at the new place and then got Chris’s things and brought them up the three flights. It took about seven hours.
I’ll write more later. I’m still too tired to think straight. See Flickr for more!

I know what you mean about stuff. It’s scary how much stuff we have without realizing it!

So would you recommend Starving Artists? They’re one of the groups I’m considering for my upcoming move.

What a lovely house! It’s huge! And the fireplaces! I am so jealous (minus the unpacking boxes part, that just sucks).

yeah dude. congratulations on your new digs. we moved this past weekend to rogers park from humboldt and it wracked my nerves for 2 reasons: (1)I’m 28 weeks pregnant and could barely lift my own feet by the end of the morning and (2) I’d heard so many horror stories about moving companies in Chicago that I thought the folks we hired would turn out to be slothful, greedy bastards. Didn’t happen. They were cool. Let me know if you want their info. –Mariya

    Fireplace. Pretty. Envious.

And sympathetic. I have a lot of accumulated stuff too, and am moving most of it to our new house tomorrow. Without a van. Maybe it would have been better to hire a van. Too late now.

Ha! I made the mistake of letting my boyfriend supervise the loading of the truck at my place and he rang me to ask, the moving men wanted to know too, why I had 27 boxes of fabric!!!!!!!!!! note to self, use code on any craft supplies..

    Yeah!! Congatulations!!
    I know, I keep trying to downsize, but I guess I’m a hoarder…
And, to compliment the above commentor, I had about 10 boxes of fabric, and I thought I was psycho!
Haven’t told you lately, but I think you’re the bees knees!!
    xoxo,
    Julianne
