I’m adding a section for my editorial work (which continues to be full-time at Sourcebooks, and not open to freelance). More TK, but for now, here’s my work bio:

Wendy McClure’s kidlit career spans over twenty-five years. As a senior editor at Sourcebooks, she acquires for a broad range of children’s book categories, from board book to YA. Picture books she’s worked on include Jacob’s New Dress by Sarah and Ian Hoffman, How This Book Got Red by Margaret Chiu Greanias, and Judgy Bunny and the Terrible Beach by Scott Rothman. Lately in middle grade she’s edited the New York Times bestelling Isle of Ever series by Jen Calonita, and in YA, the thriller 49 Miles Alone, by Natalie D. Richards, which won the 2025 Edgar Award in the Young Adult category. Wendy is also the author of several books for kids and adults.

Hello! Over the past few years my creative work and professional life has shifted into areas that are little more private and analog than they used to be. But I'll still share what I've been up to, and this year (2026) will update this site accordingly. Please sign up for update emails if you want to catch up! (I'll also post an update to my Substack, but not sure if I'll have new content there.)
